Job Description

Payroll Specialist

  • Maintains payroll processing system and records by gathering, calculating, and inputting data
  • Processes company’s payroll every pay period
  • Computes employee take-home pay based on time records, benefits, and taxes
  • Ensure payslip is generated accurately, distributed timely and accurately to relevant staff
  • Performs the payment to relevant authorities per statutory stipulated schedule, ie. monthly tax payment to the tax authority, etc.
  • Adheres to payroll policies and procedures and complies with relevant law
  • Identifies, investigates, and resolves discrepancies in timesheet and all payroll related tasks
  • Determines organization's tax obligations by calculating national and council taxes as well as National Insurance contributions
  • Performs the distribution of wages through the issuance of paper checks or direct transfers to employees’ bank accounts
  • Responsible to ensure staff data is updated correctly in the employee database.
  • Answers staff questions about wages, deductions, attendance, and time records
  • Honors confidentiality of employees’ pay records
  • Completes payroll reports for record-keeping purposes or managerial review
  • Registration/deregistration of countries’ statutory social benefits to the relevant local authorities
  • Responsible for quarterly / semi-annual / annual statutory processing to ensure compliance per statutory requirements, such as annual year-end tax filing (request relevant documentation from staff, compute relevant tax processing, produce required report/form for filing to tax authority and staff)
  • Ad hoc tasks requested by the Company

Local Representative

 

  • Be our local representative in MEA Region for Turkey
  • Meet and greet our local employee in MEA Region and oversee the onboarding process to make sure onboarding him/ her smoothly
  • Serve as an escalation point for our clients and clients’ employees and make sure their issues and concerns could be solved quickly
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest HR trends and regulatory changes in MEA Region and communicate to the teams as applicable
  • Provide on the ground administrative support including but not limited to Office Space Sourcing, medical insurance application, bank account opening and other office equipment sourcing and purchasing
  • Be the first point of contact for all HR-related queries
  • Other Ad Hoc Projects being requested

Requirements

  • Work experience as a Payroll Specialist and HR Local Rep or similar role
  • Good knowledge of payroll regulations in Turkey and MEA
  • Familiarity with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS)
  • Knowledge of local labor legislation
  • Very good organizational skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Analytical and research skills
  • Capable to conduct detail-oriented activities
  • Flexible approach to managing workload
  • A strong desire to work fully remotely
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
  • Turkish language is a must
