Glossier is looking for a highly motivated, experienced and collaborative Sourcing Associate, who is excited to drive operational strategies for Glossier’s fast scaling supply chain. This individual will be expected to approach strategic initiatives and supply issues with innovative problem solving, challenging the status quo and optimizing for scale. The Sourcing Associate will play a critical role in our supply chain evolution, analyzing Glossier’s overall supplier base, driving sourcing improvements, and optimizing product lead times and costs - while prioritizing vendor relationships. Additionally, they will work closely with product development, package development, commercialization, creative, project management and product marketing teams to ensure cross-functional alignment in key decisions. This role will be focusing primarily on new product development for our merch, non-beauty and collateral category as well as some product programs and establishing robust product supply chains in order to ensure post launch success.

6 Month Expectations 

  • Demonstrate deep understanding of diverse sourcing + management (including merch, collateral and non-beauty).
  • Partner with creative to propose high quality, innovative solutions as we continue to evolve our merch + non-beauty offering.
  • Acquire thorough knowledge of our current products and vendor network during the onboarding process.
  • Proficient in generating, verifying, and monitoring Purchase Orders (POs) and their status within Netsuite.
  • Assume responsibility for organizing/ running meetings with key suppliers.
  • Kick off Request for Quotation (RFQ) process for New Product Development (NPD) and Merchandise-owned programs to uncover potential cost-saving opportunities.
  • Additionally, during the initial three months, focus on sharing and implementing identified cost-saving opportunities across the portfolio items, enhancing operational efficiency and financial performance.

12+ Month Expectations

  • Actively engage in reviewing and assessing vendor proposals for upcoming product launches, aiming to negotiate the most competitive pricing while ensuring the highest quality, timely delivery, and optimal ordering sequence to uphold inventory levels efficiently.
  • Additionally, during the initial three months, focus on sharing and implementing identified cost-saving opportunities across the portfolio items, enhancing operational efficiency and financial performance.
  • Strengthen cross-functional collaborations to deepen and enrich relationships while collectively strategizing to address challenges and solve problems effectively.
  • Proactively cultivate relationships with external partners with the goal of transitioning ownership of specific vendors within a six-month timeframe, fostering collaboration and alignment to support Glossier's strategic objectives.

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 2+ years of related sourcing experience for beauty product, merchandise & collateral 
  • High proficiency in excel, ERP (Netsuite is a plus), spec systems (PLM is a plus) and program management systems (Monday.com is a plus)
  • Team player with strong analytical & strategic thinking skills
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects in parallel
  • Excellent organization, communication and problem-solving skills
  • Flexibility and willingness to adapt to fast-paced change
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in parallel
