Moxie enables nurses to become entrepreneurs, and grow successful, independent businesses. MedSpas are booming, regulated practices that provide aesthetics services like botox, fillers, and more. 

Today, 80% of them in the US are individually owned and operated and we want to keep it that way. We provide entrepreneurs the tools and expertise to operate with the scale of a large chain while remaining independent.

We enable our providers to focus on caring for their patients and make them more successful than they would have been alone. We are a well-funded startup with many happy providers and quickly scaling revenue.

General Counsel (Part-time)

We’re looking for a part-time General Counsel experienced in Healthcare laws and regulations to lead Moxie’s expansion through the US. We currently operate in only a handful of states, and are now expanding through the rest of the country. Your role will be to research and understand the regulations in each state to ensure we operate in compliance with each state’s regulations, draft agreements to support our expansion, and to stay up-to-date on changes as they occur.

We’re looking for someone who can commit approximately half-time. You’ll be stepping into a key leadership role in the company, enabling our rapid expansion, and you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to our overall strategy.

Our objectives for the role

• Understand the regulations of each state and set guidelines for Moxie’s operations everywhere we’re expanding

• Create organized systems so that you’re not having to do repetitive work, and your guidance is applied in a scalable manner

• Understand key trade-offs and make clear, practical recommendations

We’re looking for:

• You’re an experienced healthcare attorney. Terms like MSO and PC make sense to you, and you’ve drafted complex agreements between the two entity types.

• You can untangle complex guidance on a range of questions, such as what can be done by RNs, NPs, PAs, and MDs, and what is required of a Medical Director in a given state.

• Bonus: you’ve set up a Med Spa before.

• 4+ years healthcare law experience
