Full Stack Software Engineer

The Position 

We are looking for talented Full Stack Software Engineers to join Sympower's engineering team to work on solutions that help balance the electricity grid. Get to know our Software Engineering team in this video.

What you will do

  • Full life cycle development, starting with technical design and ending with deployment to the production environment

  • Identify and improve parts of the Sympower platform to make it more scalable, faster and more secure

  • Review code and be open to feedback to ensure a high quality product

  • Contribute ideas to our product development roadmap

What you will need

  • 3+ years of professional development experience in Java

  • An eye for detail, interest in taking ownership, flexibility and eagerness to learn

  • Passion for problem-solving and proactive nature, no hesitation involving colleagues for support when needed

  • Familiarity with some of the following technologies: Spring framework, JPA/Hibernate, RDBMS/PostgreSQL, Javascript/Typescript, React

  • English fluency

 

Beneficial skills

  • Experience independently running small projects end-to-end with little or no supervision

  • Interest in scaling services and IoT

  • Interest in data science and machine learning 

  • Experience with stream-based architectures such as event sourcing and/or CQRS using technologies such as Pulsar or Kafka

  • Experience with Kotlin
