The Role

Taptap Send is seeking a compliance and fraud analyst with 1-2 years of experience to carry out first line financial crime reviews while a member of our team is on paternity leave. You will carry out in depth investigations into potential fraud, money laundering and carry out enhanced due diligence on customers.

The role is full-time and based in the UK and remote arrangements are available. You will work with the Fraud Team Lead and the wider Taptap Send financial crime team to implement the compliance and fraud program for Taptap Send’s global operations. 

As part of our first line of defence, the analyst will join the team that tackles financial crime and conducts in-depth investigations into suspected scams and possible money laundering.

• Use a combination of our technology and third-party software to evaluate suspicious or potentially fraudulent transactions, and gather information to drive decision-making
• Review potentially sanctioned customers or recipients, and review customers that might be politically exposed
• Escalate suspicious activity to the second line of defence and being able to rationalise and defend your decisions as needed
• Perform diligence on customers to ensure that we understand who they are and their risk profile
• Assist with and responding to information requests from commercial partners
• Be willing to work some weekends with time off in lieu

• 1-2 years experience in a regulated financial institution in a compliance or compliance-related role
• An interest in using technology to address fraud and compliance issues
• Experience with compliance systems (transaction monitoring, sanction screening, etc)
• Attention to detail while still seeing the bigger picture
• The initiative to work independently to pursue your analysis
• Good communication skills and the ability to clearly express opinions and concerns
• A willingness to work flexible hours
• Proficiency in English (required) and (preferably) another European language.
