About the Job

Join the marketing team to solidify OpenSesame’s leadership position. We have a multi-year vision as we evolve the business and grow our mid-market and enterprise customer base, expand all existing customers, and support our ever-growing partner network.

Events at OpenSesame are a vital tool in generating business as well as increasing brand awareness. You will be responsible for the event marketing function for OpenSesame and report to the director of growth marketing. Your role is a core collaboration point for demand generation and the partner and sales teams. All of the classic event marketing responsibilities are included in this scope. 

This position will manage both online and in-person events such as: webinars, virtual conferences, in-person trade shows, conferences, road shows, our annual user conference, as well as events held in conjunction with our partners and publishers. The position deals with a wide range of responsibilities that include: setting the event strategy, master planning, production, and detailed budget management and ROI analysis.

The Event Marketing Manager must be able to anticipate project needs, discern work priorities, and meet deadlines; and should have a passion for creative and differentiated experiences. This person will provide outstanding communication to OpenSesame staff, vendors, event attendees and volunteers. This person is the lead for marketing event planning, budget and logistics management, and production. You will also lend your expertise to the employee event team, in particular for our all-company in-person event experience. 

Performance Objectives

  • Conduct a past event audit and create the 2024 event plan. In the first 45 days, examine past performance and review competitive and partner programs. Create the specific event plan, verify targets and budget, and calendar for 1H2024. 
  • Create a process for evaluating partner event opportunities to support driving referral revenue through our expanding partner network. 
  • Digital events: do a comprehensive review of all OpenSesame digital events and create a centralized plan for webinars and other digital experiences. Do this in the context of our overall demand generation campaign mix. 
  • Team with demand generation to grow pipeline to support revenue growth - roughly 50% per year to reach 200M ARR in the next 4 years. 
  • Ensure we’re using the most modern techniques to create memorable experiences and impact in our digital and in-person events. You know the techniques to do those things. Bring them here and help us increase our impact.

Location: This position can be based anywhere in the US. We operate as a remote-first company, and invest in all-company meetings several times a year. 

Performance Driven: We're looking for self-starters with a track record of delivering excellent results, but we're highly selective about who we hire. We don't focus on typical job requirements, instead, we're interested in specific examples from your past experiences. All positions can be based anywhere in the US, and require up to 15 days of travel per year, with senior management and leadership teams requiring up to 35 days.
