Newsweek is seeking an experienced Entertainment Reporter to join our U.S. team.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable reporting on and writing about U.S. television and celebrity culture. Reporters must be able to source, pitch, and write several stories per day that conform to accepted standards of journalism and meet the needs of a fast-paced newsroom.
We want writers who can spot cultural trends and tell compelling stories about what they mean and why they matter. This team will be less concerned with publishing reviews of the latest streaming series, for example, and more focused on the talking points, controversies, and fandoms that spring up around those breakout series.
Members of this team should be able to not only put news events into a larger context, but also anticipate how the news cycle around a given subject will develop. Reporters are expected to regularly deliver stories with unique angles that stand out in a crowded and competitive field.
