About the Role:

SecurityScorecard is looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual to lead the creation and implementation of our cybersecurity media division. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in cybersecurity, comprehensive knowledge of current technologies and industry standards, and a proven ability to produce high-quality journalism. This role involves researching, writing, and editing articles on various cybersecurity topics, such as current threats and vulnerabilities, emerging technologies and trends, and best practices for cyber defense. Additionally, the candidate will create and deliver digital content including podcasts, videos (both long and short-form), and social media content.

The successful candidate should be able to translate complex technical information into clear, engaging content for a non-technical audience, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy. Responsibilities also include sourcing and verifying information from experts, government agencies, and industry reports, conducting interviews, and collaborating with a team of journalists and editors.

Responsibilities

  • Create a destination media hub for cybersecurity professionals, including written content, podcasts, and multimedia, that drives massive traffic volume and emerges as a major cybersecurity media hub for original content
  • Build a team of content creators and journalists that will contribute on a regular basis with compelling content
  • Source and verify information from experts, government agencies, and industry reports
  • Conduct interviews with industry experts and stakeholders
  • Collaborate with a team of journalists and editors to produce high-quality content

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience as a journalist or reporter covering cybersecurity
  • Proven track record of producing high-quality content
  • Strong background in cybersecurity with in-depth knowledge of current technologies and industry standards
  • Excellent research and writing skills, with the ability to translate complex technical information into clear, engaging articles
  • Experience in creating podcasts and video content (long and short-form)
  • Experience in developing and executing social media strategies
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team

The estimated salary range for this position is $150,000 - $250,000. Actual compensation for the position is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to affordability, skills, qualifications and experience, and may vary from the range. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible for annual performance-based incentive compensation awards and equity, among other company benefits.
