What will you do ?
  • Quantitative Analysis: Use data to inform strategy and opportunity prioritisation. The role will require painstaking data analysis several hours a week
  • Qualitative Analysis: Deeply understand consumer behaviour, choices, and habits w.r.t. streaming entertainment
  • Experimentation: Continuously experiment with layouts and assortments to drive metrics
  • Taxonomy: Lead the taxonomy team to enhance content intelligence beyond genres into sub-genres & themes to unlock the perfect recommendation
  • Graphics: Lead the graphics team that creates static & animated thumbnails that make the customer click
  • Copy: Write and edit microcopy in the form of titles & descriptions for trays & assortments
  • Business Alignment: Align the publishing strategy with the larger business strategy
  • Dynamic tactics: Continuously steer & seize external & internal opportunities by being hyper-aware of pop culture across segments
  • Leadership: Lead (often without formal authority) a team of a few dozen internal & external people involved in creative, curation, graphics design, analytics, and category management
  • Roster: Plan the workforce day to day because JioCinema is open 24x7 & events unfold 24x7.
  • Coordination: Coordinate improvements to the system with the Product & Technology teams, and content ingestion teams.


Who should apply for this role ?
  • 7-15 years work-ex in category management / product management / taxonomy / content marketing / product marketing / curation / editorial / social media marketing - preferably in entertainment & preferably for a digital-first audience
  • Excellent taste in thumbnails
  • Significant experience collaborating with distributed / remote teams
  • True love for entertainment content. Innate understanding of ‘what works’ in Indian entertainment
  • A bit of a pop culture vulture but with a perspective of sensitivity towards socio-political & historical issues
  • High quality communications with stakeholders
  • High tolerance for ambiguity, experimentation, and rapid pivots in a truly fast-paced and dynamic environment
