Director, Product Management

We’re looking for a great Director, Product Management to join our team. You’ll own the success of a key product, and be part of a team of smart, resourceful, and empathic humans.

Fundamentally, this job is about owning the success of a product that can have a meaningful impact on the clinical trial industry. We’re not looking for someone to simply write good requirements and make sure that the product meets them. Those things are important, but not sufficient. This job is about building, launching, and growing a successful product.

This role is for someone who can think deeply to understand complex problems, and collaborate to come up with awesome solutions and a plan to turn good ideas into great products. You don’t have to have all the answers. In fact, we acknowledge the things we don’t know so that we approach problems with humility, curiosity, and open-mindedness. This role requires good judgment to make wise tradeoffs, make decisions in the face of ambiguity, and take informed risks.

We have an amazing team of product designers. We need someone who will work hand-in-hand with Design to craft great product experiences that delight our customers. This requires attention to the details without losing perspective of the bigger vision and the broader system.

We need someone who understands that the job doesn’t stop at getting the product built and shipped. The job includes preparing Marketing to promote the product, Sales to sell the product, and Customer Success to implement and support the product. The job includes tracking the product’s adoption, identifying areas for improvement, and growing the adoption.

• Experience: You have at least 8 years of product management experience.
• Curiosity: You learn rapidly and eagerly. You are curious about the market, the competition, our customers, and our strategy. Even when approached with suggested solutions, you are curious about the underlying problems.
• Bias for Action: Speed matters to you. Many decisions and actions are reversible and do not need to be overanalyzed or follow a ceremonial process. You are comfortable taking smart risks.
• Impact: You deliver results. You focus yourself and the teams you work with on business outcomes that matter. You take responsibility for the success of your product and align other teams to ensure success. You anticipate what can go wrong, get others aligned, and work to mitigate risks.
• Empathy: You internalize customer problems and strive for solutions that customers love.
• Excellent Communication: You listen well and seek to understand before reacting. You are articulate and concise in speech and writing. You can explain complex topics in simple language. You effectively communicate the “what” and the “why”. You insist on high quality in both internal and external communications and collateral.
