Reporting to the Vice President, People and Culture, the Director Talent Management and Organizational Effectiveness leads the Centre of Excellence for all things related to Talent Development, Planning and Organizational Development at Flipp. The position is a key collaborator and thought partner in the overall People and Talent strategy for Flipp. Through exceptional leadership of a COE model, this position enables people strategies and programs to support the HR Business Partner team, People Operations team and business leaders to drive outcomes in the areas of: Coaching for Performance, Learning and Growth, Leadership Development, Strategic Talent Management (i.e. talent reviews and succession planning), Talent Acquisition, Employee Engagement, and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
Specifically, this role oversees the Talent Acquisition Team, and Learning and Growth team and is a part of the People and Culture Leadership team. The successful individual requires staying abreast of external best practices in Talent Management, Organizational Development and Effectiveness, and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
What you'll get the opportunity to do:
Vision and Strategy
- Provides strategic, data based insights and recommendations on Flipp’s Performance and People Development initiatives that align to strong business outcomes/deliverables.
- Leads the successful implementation and measurement of Talent Management and Organizational Effectiveness programs and initiatives.
- Builds an integrated Talent Management model that includes mapping the flow of talent data and ensuring the right talent inputs and outputs are leveraged and generated to support organizational decisions within the company and divisions.
- Leverage systems thinking to evaluate organizational structures, processes and systems to enhance and promote a high performance culture that addresses current needs and anticipates future needs.
- Champions strategic talent management as a priority across all levels of the organization by effectively influencing key stakeholders and partners.
- Maintains a pulse on Talent/People best practices externally and proactively advises on areas of focus to drive impact as the COE leader.
Advisory and Influence
- Engages and collaborates with business leaders, People Operations and HR Business Partners on the implementation of Talent Management initiatives.
- Acts as a mentor and advisor to broader teams like People and Culture, Flipp Leadership Team, Executive Team on key aspects of Talent Management such as:
- Building a talent centric culture
- Increasing leadership commitment and capability to manage talent
- Influencing business and organizational strategy with talent knowledge & insights
- Leads direct team to ensure alignment of HR strategies and strong execution of programs.
- Directly manages and coaches 2 direct reports, Manager of TA & Sr. Manager, Learning & Growth.
Talent Acquisition/Employer Branding Oversight
- Oversees strategy and execution of Talent Acquisition including hiring and Flipp’s Employer brand.
- Coach and develop TA Manager to support growth and development of the overall TA team.
- Instill a continuous improvement mindset on TA processes and structure to deliver speed and quality of talent.
- Support a globalization of hiring efforts in partnership with the TA Manager and advise on the executional strategy.
Organizational Development and Program Management
- Define and lead an agile and scalable talent management strategy, working closely with HRBPs to build execution assets.
- Utilize internal/external data to identify workforce capability gaps and shape talent management strategy that is future-looking.
- Implement strategies and programs to develop and retain talent, supporting Flipp’s vision of increasing talent density and fostering a high-performance culture.
- Oversee team member engagement and action plans across divisions through bi-annual Engagement surveys.
- Lead Talent Reviews in partnership with the HRBP team to identify top talent and succession planning.
- Monitor and report on the success of talent management initiatives, tracking relevant metrics and benchmarks.
- Apply expertise in Change Management & Organizational Design and Development capabilities to assess workforce needs, drive strategic organizational effectiveness and future proof the People strategy.
- Lead the implementation of change management practices that support organizational growth and agility, ensuring alignment with overall company business objectives.
- Partner with the ERG - Unity Group to advise and support on our various Diversity, Equity and Inclusion initiatives.
What you'll bring to the team:
- Minimum 8 years HR experience, preferably in technology or high-growth sectors
- 3+ years as an HR Business Partner preferred
- 3-5+ years managing and coaching teams
- Proven leadership in successful talent management programs
- Change management and organizational effectiveness expertise
- Self-directed, collaborative, and accountable
- Proven track record influencing key stakeholders
- Bias towards action and continuous improvement
- Strong data judgment for influencing strategies
- Business acumen to drive effective people programs
- Ability to work effectively across all levels
- Experience in global or scaling companies preferred
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Organizational Psychology is ideal
- Advanced degree or certification in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience
- CHRL Designation or equivalent is considered an asset
