Director of Marketing

POSITION OVERVIEW

The new Director of Marketing for Gersh Autism will be responsible for fostering growth and brand awareness. The main objective of the position is to help progress the organization’s goal of becoming the household name and the largest brand that serves those on the affected by autism.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Define the long-term growth strategy by using relevant market data, customer research and competitive intelligence to identify new opportunities for school and market.
  • Establish and implement brand equity and creative guidelines across all touch points
  • Works collaboratively with senior leadership to achieve organization-wide strategic objectives through marketing including establishing annual Marketing goals and strategies, tactical plans, budget, and a performance dashboard that will include all critical KPI’s.
  • Identify the highest potential markets and the highest potential customer segments who offer appropriate scale, profitable growth, and the most attractive LTV.
  • Determine the target, the message and the medium by leveraging the input of both internal and external assets (agency partners) and information, to design and deliver hard-hitting communications that break through a clutter of competitors, and create conversions.
  • Design a full funnel marketing plan and implement using traditional Marketing tools, which may include Print, Direct Mail, Local Sponsorships and Promotions, as well as digital tools like Paid Search, SEO, Paid Social, Display and Retargeting, Web Video, and Email.
  • Develop ongoing CRM testing plans for engagement, loyalty, cross-sell, and winback marketing initiatives to optimize lead gen and acquisition.
  • Build 360 Campaigns - Manage execution of marketing strategy for each school including digital and traditional marketing plans to drive parents, teachers, and students with the goal of getting conversions to each school.
  • Built out a holistic marketing team including direct reports, Marketing peers, cross-functional colleagues, and a variety of external partners (agencies, technology partners, consultants, etc.)

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or related field, Master preferred
  • Ability to travel
  • Five or more years marketing/communications experience with strong emphasis on digital channels
  • At least 3 or more years of strong analytical skills; you have proven experience using data to identify trends, drive key performance indicators, and make key content and channel marketing decisions
  • Interest in and/or past experience the education system
  • Experience managing complex and long-term strategic marketing projects preferred.
  • Experience managing a team
  • Strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize across those projects, and still meet deadlines
  • Good communicator, great collaborator and team member
  • Entrepreneurial; a self-starter who loves to own projects and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment

LOCATION DYNAMICS

Gersh wants to hire the very best Marketing Director to help drive growth for the brand, so the senior leadership is open to this position living wherever they prefer, and travel as needed. Such travel will include trips to a variety of Gersh Academies and other Gersh locations, as well as travel for other critical business-related purposes.

Knowing that the vast majority of Marketing leaders have spent the better part of the past two years, working remotely, we expect whomever steps into this important role will be an effective remote leader for Gersh, respecting that a remote scenario carries with it certain type of personal responsibility and commitment.
