We are seeking a Director, Global Revenue Accounting & Assurance. This role will have a tremendous impact on revenue recognition and designing the business requirements, operations, and system processes to support various company’s initiatives to grow and scale. This leader will bring thought leadership and business partnering across various organizations such as Sales, Revenue Operations, Deal Enablement, FP&A, Finance Systems, Legal, IT, Product, Professional Services, and more. This is an incredible opportunity to join a highly motivated, fun team poised for success.

This position will report directly to the Senior Director, Technical Accounting, and will work in Austin, TX or remotely. We’re looking for a candidate to join us immediately. 

What you’ll do:

  • Manage and lead the revenue close, including deal reviews and management reporting, with a focus on continuous process improvement in a dynamic environment with evolving revenue models, and ensure a high degree of quality, timeliness, and accuracy.
  • Own the preparation and review of monthly and quarterly management reporting with a specific focus on revenue and related financials - analyzing financial results, distilling/synthesizing key trends, and communicating business insights to leadership.
  • Manage and develop the global revenue accounting team including hiring, performance appraisals, coaching and mentoring, etc., and enable proper succession planning and talent management.
  • Serve as the finance organization’s subject matter expert and valued business partner on revenue accounting and collaborate with Sales, Revenue Operations, Deal Enablement, Billing & Collections, FP&A, Legal, IT, Product and Professional Services relative to contract negotiations, system improvements, new product offerings to provide guidance on technical accounting, policies and processes, and other high impact projects.
  • Review and approve non-standard contracts to ensure revenue is recognized in accordance with US GAAP and internal policies.
  • Improve and optimize scalable revenue and billing systems (Salesforce, Zuora Billing, RevPro, NetSuite) and develop/evolve best-in-class and scalable policies, processes, timelines, and communications.  
  • Ensure data integrity over ARR and revenue billing and reporting systems.
  • Involved in ad hoc projects that may arise, driving process changes and improvement for the broader Revenue team and Quote-to-Cash cycle and ensuring technical compliance.
  • Review revenue disclosures for external financial reporting, including 10Qs, 10Ks, and 8Ks, and assist in ensuring compliance with SEC and GAAP reporting requirements.
  • Work closely with the Company’s external auditors on revenue recognition and related controls and manage interim and annual audit requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.

What we’re looking for:

  • Business degree in accounting or finance is required; a CPA is required.
  • 10+ years of experience with a combination of public accounting and accounting in publicly traded SaaS companies, with 6+ years of revenue accounting and management experience.
  • Deep working knowledge of ASC 606, including multiple-element arrangement accounting, standalone selling price establishment, contract modification accounting, etc. 
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills are required. The ability to communicate technical revenue issues in a business-like, non-technical manner is a basic requirement. 
  • Ability to make data-driven recommendations, decisions, and action plans. 
  • Experience thinking strategically and working effectively across functions to resolve complex business problems.
  • Excellent time and project management skills – can coordinate multiple projects simultaneously in a high-paced and dynamic business culture. Proficiency in Excel is needed.
  • Systems experience with Salesforce, NetSuite, Zuora Billing, and RevPro is a plus.

Additional Information

Base Pay Range $180,600 - $248,325. Eligible for Bonus Incentive Compensation. Procore is committed to offering competitive, fair, and commensurate compensation, and has provided an estimated pay range for this role. Actual compensation will be based on a candidate’s job-related skills, experience, education or training, and location.
