The Director, Compensation will play a crucial role in shaping and implementing Anthology's talent strategy. Reporting to the VP, Total Rewards, HRIS & Payroll, you will oversee all aspects of compensation design and administration, including broad-based compensation, executive compensation, and sales compensation. This role provides the tactical leadership and analytical capability necessary to support plan design and leads a small team to accurately administer compensation programs that support the employee experience.       

     

Primary responsibilities will include:    

  • Providing strategic and tactical leadership in the development, implementation, and management of Anthology's compensation programs
  • Overseeing broad-based compensation, executive compensation, and sales compensation administration to ensure alignment with rewards philosophy, organizational goals, and objectives
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders, including HR, Finance, and senior leadership, to design and execute effective compensation programs
  • Conducting regular market analyses to ensure Anthology's compensation practices remain competitive and in line with industry standards
  • Leading a small team responsible for administering base compensation, variable pay programs, and sales commissions
  • Providing mentorship, guidance, and development opportunities for the team’s growth and fostering a collaborative, engaging work environment
  • Driving the annual salary review process, including the development of salary structures, merit budgets, and incentive plans
  • Partnering with HR Shared Services, HRIS and Payroll teams to ensure seamless and accurate tracking and administration of compensation programs
  • Providing expertise and guidance on compensation matters to senior leadership and key stakeholders
  • Staying informed about industry trends, best practices, and legislative changes related to compensation

     

The Candidate:    

Required skills/qualifications:    

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field
  • At least 10 years of progressive experience in HR with a deep background in compensation (broad-based, variable, and sales/commissions) 
  • Prior experience in developing compensation structure and deploying global programs
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience leading high-performing teams comprised of professional contributors required, preferably with team members located across the globe
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization
  • Highly analytical with a keen attention to detail; comfortable with hands-on work
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and compensation benchmarking tools and applications
  • Fluency in written and spoken English

     

Preferred skills/qualifications:    

  • Master's degree and relevant certifications
  • 3 or more years of HR experience within global and/or technology sector
  • Prior experience with private equity-held organizations

     

Pay range is $153,000 - $175,000/year depending upon experience. We use national and industry-specific survey data to assist in determining compensation. Additionally, we consider factors such as external market rate, budget for the role, and the compensation rates of current employees performing the same function. Some roles will have variable pay.
