Position Overview

We're looking for a DevOps Engineer with a strong background in Site Reliability Engineering, who can play a critical role in the technical operations of our APIs and banking infrastructure. 

Your job will be to operate, and maintain performant and reliable systems, while cleverly working around the limitations that legacy bank systems often impose. Your work will help define the core mechanics of how banks will operate in the 21st century.

You will:

• Analyze system performance, and identify opportunities for optimization in terms of resource utilization, latency reduction, and overall system efficiency

• Maintain and expand our cloud infrastructure platform

• Optimize and fine-tune the performance and reliability of database services  

• Collaborate with software engineers to optimize code and database queries for improved system performance

• Create and manage monitoring systems to provide visibility into the health and performance of critical services.

• Respond to and resolve incidents, utilizing strong troubleshooting skills to identify root causes and prevent recurrence.

• Participate in an on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support for critical incidents.

• Automate processes, help reduce engineering support burden

• Work collaboratively across the company to launch new features

• Help improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes

• Forecast growth and plan for resource scaling to accommodate increasing demand and ensure a smooth user experience.

•  Design and implement strategies for horizontal and vertical scaling of infrastructure components.

You may be a good fit for this role if you:

• Have 5+ years of experience in DevOps, with emphasis on Site Reliability Engineering

• Have 5+ years of experience in database performance tuning and reliability (experience with Postgres and AWS Relational Database Service a bonus)

• Have experience building infrastructure-as-code (experience with AWS CloudFormation or Terraform a bonus) 

• Have experience with disaster recovery design and implementation

• Are able to communicate complex ideas simply and effectively, this role requires frequent interactions with customers and partners

• Think systematically and operate securely; we care much more about engineering excellence than knowledge of a particular technology

• Thrive in a fast-paced start-up environment and are excited to create new things

• Have experience and are comfortable providing 24x7 operations support (preference towards those on Central or Eastern Time)
