Our vision is to be the number one brand in the emerging digital car management space.

Our mission is to help the UK's 38 million drivers reduce the stress, cost and environmental impact of car ownership

Tasks

We’re looking for an experienced DevOps engineer to join our team and focus on building out our infrastructure as code (IaC) and DevOps processes.

You’ll quickly take ownership of our Azure platform and newest project, working with our current vendors to identify and implement the required IaC using Terraform to allow us to scale.

We use Azure for API service management, data storage and manipulation, firewalls, IT Governance and we already have a basic staging environment in place for you to develop further.

You’ll be working to identify the right priorities with the support of developers, a delivery manager and third party partners where necessary.

We expect the priorities will include development of our CI/CD pipelines, identifying testing needs and environments, implementing monitoring tools and metrics to name a few.

This is a role with a broad remit which you will be able to shape, we are happy to support learning and development in any areas that would benefit you.

We offer flexible working hours and many staff chose to work 4 days per week with Fridays off. We are set up for you to deliver your best work remotely and we tend to meet up once a month in Birmingham.

Requirements

First and foremost you must already be building your skills towards a career in DevOps and IaC.

It's crucial that you are already familiar with a broad range of Azure features and that you have been using Terrafrom to build infrastructure in a past position as this will be a major focus of your role.

You’ll be responsible for developing our CI/CD pipelines so if you haven’t built from scratch before.

We’ll want to hear about the monitoring tools you have used and which metrics you found most useful to measure.

You must have a solid understanding of databases.

While your focus may be on other areas you must understand APIs to be able to debug.

We’re not looking for a security engineer but we expect you to have a strong understanding of security fundamentals and best practices.

This is a role which will require a methodical and pragmatic approach.

If you’ve not already worked in a startup environment we’ll want to hear about how you see the differences compared with more established businesses and why this makes sense for your career now.

Benefits

This is a unique opportunity to develop the infrastructure and DevOps process from a fairly clean slate.

We already have traction, a growing customer base and a pressing need to improve our scalability.

We have strong relationships with expert vendors to support your work.

You’ll have the support of the wider team so you can focus on what you do best.

We’ll help you develop new skills and take on new responsibilities in this role.

Flexible, remote working with options for a 4-day week too.

25 days holiday (pro rata'd)
