At the Center for Open Science (COS), we build the tools to make it possible and easy for the research community to make scientific investigations' data, results, and outcomes open, transparent, and reproducible. Our team is dedicated to improving the alignment between scientific values and scientific practices to improve the accumulation and application of knowledge. The COS team moves quickly, identifies problems and creates solutions, encourages risk-taking, blends science and technology, and is collaborative, data-driven, and dedicated to openness.
We are looking for someone who is as passionate about open science as we are, and is ready to help drive change. This position will be responsible for strategic planning, implementation, and execution of the COS’s new Data Science effort. This includes the creation, maintenance, and shared understanding of a common framework for data insights across internal and external data sources at COS, including the Open Science Framework (OSF). The Data Scientist will also play a key role in creating and monitoring organizational indicators for strategic planning and facilitating cross-team collaboration and coordination. The Data Scientist will supervise a Data Analyst.
\nThis is a fully remote position with a requirement to attend up to 4 in person meetings per year.
COS supports flexibility in work scheduling. Individuals who would like to work outside a 9am - 5pm Eastern Time (ET) schedule must work with their managers to establish core hours of availability. Modifications for different time zones will be considered for team collaboration.
