We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our Data Platform Team. The team is passionate about improving and maintaining Data Platform which is used to gather, transform, and serve data from various sources across Bitstamp. As we scale, our Data Platform is becoming increasingly important for delivering business insights and new products.
We are looking for a leader with strong people skills to manage both the team and stakeholders and guide the team towards their goals. You will work closely with the Head of Platform, Head of Data Intelligence, Data Platform Chief Engineer and the rest of our Data Platform team.
Good engineering background is essential. Our tech stack is Python, Docker, Airflow, AWS (Athena, EMR, Glue, EC2), and Spark on AWS EMR various adapters.
What you'll do
- Lead the effort in shaping our Data Platform strategy.
- Manage roadmap for Data Platform Team.
- Support the team with their needs and in their career development.
- Gather business needs from stakeholders and make sure that projects are well defined for execution.
- Work closely with the team to reduce operational overhead and increase robustness of the Platform.
Requirements
- People skills and ability to work and lead diverse people.
- Experience in building either Data platform / Data Cloud / Data Mesh / Data Warehouse.
- Basic project management skills.
- Ability to work with different stakeholders on building and delivering team roadmap.
- Basic AWS knowledge.
- Keen sense of ownership and responsibility (we own the services we build).
- Strong software engineering background and experience with developing web products at scale.
- Hands-on approach – we want you to be part of the team and contribute to the codebase.
- Effective (clear and concise) communication with your pears, stakeholders and engineering leads.
- Experience in AWS solutions, particularly with Data Cloud services.
- Experience with Airflow.
