At MedScout, we believe there's a massive opportunity to create the first revenue acceleration platform built specifically for sales and marketing teams at life science companies.
We founded the company in early 2021 and have made significant commercial progress. We’ve raised $6.8m from incredible investors and are building a strong brand within our segment by being a Product and Engineering-driven company. We've laid the foundation by being a bit obsessive about our technology, and as we scale, we’re not willing to give that up.
Now, we’re looking to bring on a talented Data Analyst to bolster our technology team. As one of the primary contributors to our data model, you'll work directly with a Co-Founder and have a massive impact on how we use 45 TB+ of medical claims data to help our customers accelerate their medical technology sales motion.

How will you help build MedScout?
Continuous improvement and agility. Use customer and internal team feedback to foster feedback loops to improve data accuracy, find improvements to our data models, and enable data-driven decisions across the organization. A customer might say something like, “this looks off”. You’ll help us decide if we should investigate, own the follow-up exploration(s), and help direct communications + action items.
Platform development collaboration. Partner with both technical and customer-facing teams to help define, build, and enrich our APIs and data infrastructure as we scope and roll out new features.
Uncover and explain trends and insights within our dataset. Work directly with our Founding Marketer and Sales team to help tell the MedScout story and present our view on the market through reports and editorial content.
Develop and improve documentation for internal teams and customers. Help document the nuances of our datasets to effectively answer internal and external questions as we scale.

Requirements
What does an ideal background look like?
2+ years in a Data Analyst role working with large, complex datasets
Familiarity with data analysis tools (e.g. SQL, Spark, R)
Proficiency in Python
Experience working with both relational and non-relational databases
Exceptional communication skills with a strong ability to work closely across teams
Experience owning complex analysis and distilling your findings into reports, visualizations, and presentations
Experience with agile methodologies
Bonus points:
Experience working in Databricks
Experience contributing to ETL and Data Pipeline work
Understanding of medical claims data and billing practices (coding, reimbursement, etc.)
Experience with web scraping/crawling

Three reference calls with our CEO and your references
Group interview with members of the Customer Success and Platform Engineering teams
