Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Cybersecurity Engineer to join our team in safeguarding our organization's digital assets and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in cybersecurity, a proactive mindset, and the ability to implement and maintain robust security measures to protect our systems, networks, and data from evolving cyber threats.
Job Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage comprehensive cybersecurity strategies, policies, and procedures to safeguard our organization's information systems and data.
- Monitor network traffic, system logs, and security alerts to detect and respond to potential security incidents and breaches.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration tests to identify weaknesses and vulnerabilities in systems and applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address security concerns and provide expert guidance on security best practices during the development lifecycle.
- Install, configure, and maintain security tools and technologies, such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and endpoint security solutions.
- Implement and manage access controls, authentication, and authorization mechanisms to ensure only authorized individuals have access to sensitive resources.
- Investigate security breaches and incidents, analyze root causes, and recommend appropriate remediation measures.
- Stay current with the latest cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices, and provide timely insights to enhance the organization's security posture.
- Develop and deliver cybersecurity training and awareness programs to educate employees on security best practices.
- Collaborate with compliance teams to ensure that security measures align with industry regulations and standards.
- Participate in the development and testing of incident response and disaster recovery plans.
- Provide technical support during security audits and assessments.
Required Skill/Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Cybersecurity Engineer or similar role.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, technologies, and best practices.
- Familiarity with security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, CIS).
- Proficiency in networking concepts, protocols, and architecture.
- Experience with security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, SIEM solutions, and antivirus software.
- Knowledge of encryption techniques, authentication methods, and access control mechanisms.
- Hands-on experience with vulnerability assessment tools and penetration testing methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze and respond to security incidents effectively.
- Strong communication skills to convey complex security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Relevant certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), CompTIA Security+, or equivalent, are a plus.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
