Creative Director Editorial Marketing Creative Team

WHY DEPT®?

We are pioneers at heart. What this means, is that we are always leaning forward, thinking of what we can create tomorrow that does not exist today. We were born digital and we are a new model of agency, with a deep skillset in tech and marketing. That’s why we hire curious, self-driven, talented people who never stop innovating.

Our culture is big enough to cope and small enough to care. Meaning, that with people across 20+ countries, we’re big enough to provide you with the best tools, global opportunities, and benefits that help you thrive. While acting small by investing in you, your growth, your team, and giving you the autonomy to solve our clients' problems, no matter where you are in the world.

THE ROLE

We’re looking for a Creative Director to lead a new specialization within our Creative team. Always-on organic content has always been an integral part of our business, and as our client list and our team continues to grow, we’re eager to bring on a leader who can help elevate the quality and creativity of our offering.

This person will lead with great ideas — big ideas and small ideas that cut through the crowded social media landscape. They’ll have a strong POV on what makes for great organic content and they’ll work daily with creative and design teams to achieve that vision. They’ll be equally comfortable overseeing projects and getting hands-on to deliver the best work.

We believe cultural relevance is essential to successful organic content. This Creative Director should have a keen eye for trends on social and behaviors that drive them. They must also have experience working with brands to navigate this landscape, whether that means jumping on trends or creating their own.

There is also a strategic element to this role — this Creative Director will contribute to long-term content strategies for existing and potential clients. As part of this, they’ll have points of view on the roles of established and emerging social platforms in always-on brand building.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

The Editorial Creative Director will bring an entrepreneurial spirit to their role, and will unite and inspire teams in order to elevate our creative offering. In doing so, they will develop relationships with global brands and will be a key player in new business pitches

  • Inspire, motivate, and lead the editorial team

  • Guide brands and teams as they navigate social and cultural trends
  • Partner with leadership to build project teams that consistently exceed expectations
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with key client partners
  • Encourage collaboration among disciplines and agency teams
  • Implement smooth production processes and ideal ways of working
  • Invest in developing emerging talent
  • Exercise vision to identify big opportunities for clients and for our business

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

  • 7+ years of experience in a similar role
  • Experience working at social agencies
  • Astute copywriting and design sense
  • Expert knowledge of community management
  • Experience working with key stakeholders at global brands
  • A solutions-oriented, entrepreneurial mindset
  • An ability to be hands-on on multiple projects at once
  • Experience mentoring and managing direct reports
  • Charismatic presentation skills, comfort in client settings
  • Expertise at building presentations in Google Slides
  • Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and listening skills

WHAT DO WE OFFER?

We are a collaborative, open-door, best-idea-wins environment that fosters personal and company growth and has fun doing it. Here is a snapshot of our  benefits package:

  • Healthcare, Dental, and Vision coverage
  • 401k plan, plus matching

  • Parental Leave

The anticipated salary range for this position is $125,000 - $150,000. Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, expertise, and organizational impact.
