About the Project:

We are seeking a seasoned copyeditor for a temporary contract position to work on a comprehensive book focusing on finance and stock market analysis. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy, clarity, and consistency of the content, enhancing its readability and professional presentation. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced copyeditor with a keen interest in finance and investment to contribute to a significant publication project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and edit manuscript content for grammar, spelling, punctuation, syntax, and style consistency.
  • Ensure adherence to the established style guide and formatting requirements.
  • Verify accuracy of financial terminology, data, charts, and graphs.
  • Collaborate closely with authors and publishers to address any concerns or questions regarding the content.
  • Maintain clear communication throughout the editing process to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Provide constructive feedback and suggestions for improving the overall quality of the manuscript.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a copyeditor, preferably in finance, accounting or related fields.
  • Excellent command of the English language, with strong grammar and writing skills.
  • Familiarity with style guides such as APA or Chicago Manual of Style.
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy while working under tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in using editing software and tools.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Desired Experience:

  • Previous experience working on finance or investment-related publications.
  • Knowledge of stock market terminology, financial analysis concepts, and investment strategies.
  • Experience editing technical or academic content.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities.

Additional Job Information:

  • Short-term project basis starting ASAP
  • Part-time, 4-5 month project (with possible extension)
  • Flexible Schedule
  • Remote, with light communication with the content development manager via email, phone, or video conferencing.
