Over the last two years we have seen huge organic growth at Team17 as well as the acquisition of two studios and three major IP’s, and we aren't stopping there. With ambitious growth plans afoot, bringing onboard dynamic, inventive and impassioned Teamsters is central to our success.

We are now looking for an inventive and savvy Community Manager to develop and grow our gaming communities for both our own IP and on behalf of our Games Label partners! This is a great opportunity to work across multiple titles, delivering meaningful campaigns for our diverse portfolio.

 

What You Will be Working On as a Community Manager

  • Develop and manage community strategy for key Team17 products
  • Collect and present important community feedback to our internal production team and external developer partners throughout campaigns and help identify key areas of focus to improve engagement, retention and widen appeal
  • Work closely with internal development, marketing and sales teams, as well as external partners to coordinate community led projects and ensure deadlines are met
  • Act as a liaison with external partners, ensuring strong relationships are built and maintained Planning and managing a schedule of content that nurtures and grows Team17’s community across our owned channels
  • Day-to-day social media and forum management, acting as the Team17 representative on our products and first point of contact for our players
  • Organise and host livestreams in line with community campaign plans
  • Act as ambassador to our titles internally and online in our communities, quickly developing an in-depth understanding of all Team17 products
  • Manage multiple communities across an eclectic range of titles & genres

Your Day-To-Day

  • Monitor your assigned titles social media channels, responding to player enquiries and messages throughout the day.
  • Attend a mixture of internal and external calls with project teams and developers, enabling you to understand a projects progress and relay any important information to the wider teams.
  • Work with your fellow community managers, collaborating and offering support where needed.
  • Spend time on your strategies and content calendars, planning and creating eye-catching material that will be shared across the relevant social channels.
  • Schedule your planned posts in advance, allowing time for amendments and review from senior members of the team.
  • Research popular social trends and be reactive with your planning.
  • Be proactive in developing your skills with things like Photoshop and Premier Pro, along with anything else that could help you in your tasks.

What You’ll Need

  • A strong understanding and experience of Team17 games and their audiences
  • An unquenchable passion for video games, their development, with an expert understanding of the current video games industry
  • Previous experience as a Community Manager, developing inventive and meaningful campaign strategies
  • Experience of livestream production and presentation
  • An ability to track, measure and collate community sentiment reports to help recognise key factors in a campaign – helping ensure campaigns deliver the best results possible, and to identify key learnings for the future.
  • Experience creating engaging social media content
  • Working knowledge of photo and video editing software (e.g. Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Premiere Pro)
  • Excellent communications skills with the ability to build effective, collaborative relationships with a variety of stakeholders
  • Experience in building & managing communities on Discord
  • The ability to clearly convey information to players across different social media platforms
  • Knowledge & understanding of creating content across TikTok, Twitter, Facebook and YouTube – including the ability to adapt to key trends.

The Interview Process

The interview process for the Community Manager role is made up of 4 stages:

  • Stage 1 (30 minutes) – A quick introductory call with one of the TA team to briefly assess your experience and run over the role in greater detail
  • Stage 2 (45 minutes) – A formal meeting with the Senior Community Manager. This chat is to assess your community management skills (strategy, campaign planning & management). You will be asked to prepare a task in form of social posts and share it with us before your interview
  • Stage 3 (45 minutes) – A formal meeting with our Community Lead and another Marketing to talk about best practices, crisis management, cross function relations
  • Stage 4 (45 minutes) – A final interview with two of the Community Manager to assess your suitability within the team along with understanding your future aspirations. There will be plenty of opportunity for you to ask any questions as well.
