The Job

There is a massive change happening across the Transportation industry.  Companies are working furiously to develop new electrified platforms to meet the demands of their customers and do their part to reduce carbon emissions.  Our core product platform of advanced electric motors and related electrification solutions help ease the customer journey and accelerate their transition.  The faster they can transform, the better it is for our planet.  

We are seeking a talented Communications Manager to join our team and drive our customer pursuits across continents. This role involves a broad scope of responsibilities including managing internal and external communications, media relations, social media, as well as identifying and submitting speaking opportunities and awards. The successful candidate will work closely with executive leadership to prepare for press interviews and will play a key role in shaping our company's public profile.

Key Responsibilities

  • Internal Communications: Develop and implement internal communications strategies to keep staff informed and engaged. Manage the creation and distribution of internal newsletters, announcements, and other communication materials.
  • External Communications: Craft and disseminate external communications materials such as press releases, news items, and corporate announcements to enhance visibility and brand reputation.
  • Media Relations: Act as a primary contact for media inquiries, develop strong relationships with media outlets, and coordinate all aspects of media interactions including press conferences and interviews.
  • Social Media Management: Oversee the strategic management of all social media channels. Develop content strategies, engage with audiences, and measure the impact of social media efforts.
  • Speaking Opportunities and Awards: Identify and submit applications for speaking opportunities at industry events and awards that align with our business goals. Coordinate the participation of company representatives in these events.
  • Executive Support: Prepare and coach executive leadership for press interviews and public speaking engagements. Develop talking points, Q&A materials, and briefing documents to ensure consistent and effective messaging.
  • Crisis Communications: Assist in managing crisis communications, providing timely and accurate information to mitigate potential negative impacts on the company's reputation.
  • Performance Metrics: Monitor and report on the effectiveness of communication strategies using qualitative and quantitative metrics

The Requirements

  • 3-6 years of experience
  • Excels at working autonomously in a remote, fast-paced, and ever-evolving start-up environment
  • Proven track record of managing comprehensive communication strategies and media relations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to clearly convey complex ideas to various audiences.
  • Experienced in social media strategy and analytics.
  • Demonstrated ability to work closely with senior leadership and handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in digital communication tools and platforms, including content management systems and social media scheduling software.
  • Ability to connect with stakeholders across the organization with a collaborative can-do attitude and solutions-first mindset

At Turntide Technologies, our key values are based on building trust and one way of doing that is by communicating openly and concisely. To that end, we are including our approved salary range for this job posting.  The exact salary offered to a new hire will vary and will be based on a number of factors including skills, education, along with depth of experience.  Hires that meet the expectations outlines in the role can expect an offer near the 50th percentile listed below.
