This assignment posting is for an Agency Worker opportunity with Dotdash Meredith. The Agency Worker is paid by a staffing agency employer. Agency Workers will receive a W2 from the staffing agency reporting their earnings for tax purposes.
The News and Deals Editor will join the central Commerce vertical within the Transaction team and will edit shopping content for several Dotdash Meredith brands, including People, InStyle, Real Simple, Travel + Leisure, and Food & Wine. They will focus on deals and compelling product content across the fashion, beauty, home, kitchen, and travel space. This role requires someone who is passionate about editing, shopping, deals, and can edit multiple articles per day, creating content that inspires Dotdash Meredith’s large audiences to make informed purchases. This role will edit across various brands based on fluctuating team needs, so the ideal candidate is comfortable with being flexible, working with multiple teams, and editing with a range of brand voices and style guides in mind.

40 hours per week
$35/hr
Location: Remote - US
Assignment Responsibilities:
Edit multiple timely and trending shopping articles daily that generate strong affiliate revenue
Use data and analytics to brainstorm and guide content decisions
Collaborate closely with writers and editors across the Commerce team and across Dotdash Meredith
Keep up with shopping trends, celebrity styles, seasonal finds, and viral social products
Edit content within the CMS
Occasionally write for brands as needed
Attend and participate in weekly meetings across brands
Prepare content for major shopping events, like Prime Day and Black Friday
Skills/Experience:
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment that works across multiple different brands
A strong, fast editor well-versed in product reviews and timely trends; experience writing commerce content is a plus
Familiar with SEO best practices and have experience creating SEO-driven content
Familiar with the Dotdash Meredith portfolio, and able to adapt to numerous brand voices and writing styles
Experienced with digital media tools such as CMS (WordPress) and Google Analytics
Comfortable working with data and analytics, and conducting keyword research
Able to write compelling headlines that drive high engagement/page views
Excellent at providing feedback to writers
