Cloud Operations Specialist

What will you be bringing to the team?

• Responsible for the Open Source Labs technical operations, including:
• Provisioning and maintaining cloud resources, namely in AWS
• Installing and maintaining open source solutions which are being tested in the open source labs
• Proposing and implementing solutions to streamline the upkeep of the labs
• Monitoring systems for malicious activity, downtime, errors, etc.
• Providing technical user support (e.g. explore specific features, access rights, support during the tests, etc.)
• Provide user support and technical expertise related to the self-hosted Gitlab instance (code.europa.eu) using customer-centric capabilities;
• Provide support and guidance on CI/CD related matters
• Develop in-house solutions depending on the OSPO’s needs and share them with the public as a part of the open-source portfolio;
• Contribute to the in-house and external open source projects, when time allows;

Requirements

What do you need to succeed in this position?

• University degree in ICT and at least 5 years of experience in Cloud services
• Experience working on large projects/services, coupled with experience with large stakeholders’ community groups at EU scale;
• Experience with open-source projects
• Experience in provisioning, configuring, optimising and maintaining cloud infrastructure, specifically AWS (AWS Solutions Architect Associate Certification or higher is considered an advantage)
• Up-to-date experience in some programming languages such as JavaScript, Python, PHP or Ruby;
• Experience in deploying and troubleshooting applications in the cloud;
• Experience working with Git platforms such as GitLab;
• Experience in proposing and setting up security and backup policies on the cloud infrastructure;
• Experience in implementing service offerings is considered an advantage;
• Experience working in an ITIL environment is a plus;
• Prior experience working for a large-scale governmental organisation where application security is key is considered an advantage.
• AWS and/or OVH certifications are considered a plus
• Fluency in English, French language knowledge will be an advantage
