So, what’s the role?
We are looking for a Claims Liability Specialist with third-party homeowners claim and litigation experience to join our growing team. Because we tackle insurance differently, we want you to draw on your expertise in residential third party claims while helping us to continue to innovate on behalf of Kin’s customers and our stakeholders.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to examine and interpret insured’s policies, forms in force, and other records to determine coverage. You will not only communicate with customers and claimants, but will correspond with all attorneys throughout the litigation process while providing outstanding customer service.
A day in the life could include
Investigating all relevant facts needed to evaluate coverage, liability, and damages on casualty claim files that may involve complex issues, severe injuries and/or multiple parties
Using varying methods of investigation, including taking recorded statements, consulting with police and other experts, inspecting property damage, and reviewing medical records and other documents
Evaluating and determining injury/damage causality to the loss
Working with outside counsel on pre suit and litigation claims including attending pre-suit and post suit mediations, depositions and other litigation related events
Writing clear and concise diary notes and communications, as well as negotiating with claimants and attorneys
Appropriately applying knowledge of multiple state statutes, including the insurance code of ethics, rules, regulations, and guidelines
I’ve got the skills...but do I have the necessary ones?
4+ years (minimum) of liability property claims adjusting experience
3+ years of experience working directly for a carrier
Working knowledge of Florida insurance laws and Florida good faith claims handling experience
Excellent interpersonal and critical thinking skills
Data-driven, analytical approach
Calibrating and communicating with defense council
Outstanding negotiation skills
An active Adjusters License
