Business Development Manager

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Drive Client Growth: As a Business Development Manager, your primary responsibility will be to accelerate top-of-funnel efforts for clients by identifying opportunities, developing outbound strategies, and overseeing outbound execution to book meetings on behalf of clients. You will play a pivotal role in expanding the client’s business growth and revenue streams.
  • Consultative Approach: At Demand Inc., we believe that a consultative mindset is essential for success in this role. You will act as a trusted advisor and industry expert to our clients, deeply understanding their unique challenges and needs. By engaging in thoughtful conversations, proactively suggesting new ideas and actively listening, you will be able to tailor our AI-enabled sales development framework to address their specific pain points effectively.
  • Strategic Thinking: We value strategic thinking as a key driver of business development success. As the Business Development Manager, you will not only focus on short-term wins but also develop, communicate, and execute long-term growth strategies. Your ability to identify emerging market trends, anticipate client demands, communicate effectively, and adapt our offerings accordingly will be crucial in maintaining our competitive edge.
  • Exceed Client Expectations: You will research, prospect, and engage with potential leads (on behalf of our clients) articulating their value proposition in concise outbound messaging that has one goal, get the meeting. Your consultative and strategic approach will be instrumental in piquing the interest of key decision-makers and converting prospects into booked discovery calls on our client’s calendars.
  • Market Research: Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor offerings, and market dynamics to identify new opportunities and ensure Demand Inc. remains at the cutting edge of the sales development technology landscape. Your strategic thinking will drive our positioning in the market and help us explore untapped growth areas.
  • Sales Strategy and Planning: Collaborate with client leadership team(s) to develop strategic sales plans and effective go-to-market strategies. Your consultative mindset will ensure that these plans are client-centric and tailored to meet the unique needs of our diverse clientele.
  • Sales Performance Optimization: Utilize your business development background, consultative approach, and strategic thinking to refine and improve top-of-funnel acceleration. You will play a vital role in establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) and implementing strategies to exceed targets.
  • Salesloft (or Outreach) Expertise: Demonstrated extensive knowledge and experience using Salesloft/Outreach platforms is a must for this position. You will leverage these tools strategically to streamline prospecting efforts, optimize outreach experiments, and maximize productivity while maintaining a consultative focus.
  • Collaboration and Leadership: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including research, product, and strategy, to align efforts and ensure a seamless customer experience. Your consultative and strategic mindset will foster a collaborative environment where ideas flow freely, and innovative solutions are developed.

Develop Team Members: in addition to driving business growth for our clients, you will be responsible for mentoring and developing other team members. Your leadership and guidance will contribute to building a cohesive and high-performing business development pod.

Requirements

  • Proven Business Development Background: A successful track record in business development or sales roles, preferably within the technology industry, is essential for this position.
  • Salesloft (or Outreach) Proficiency: Extensive experience and expertise using Salesloft and Outreach platforms to drive successful sales outcomes.
  • Result-Oriented: A strong focus on achieving and exceeding sales targets and driving business growth.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to effectively present the value proposition of our sales development platform to clients.
  • Relationship Building: Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Adaptability and Innovation: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt quickly to changing market conditions.
  • Team Management Experience: Previous experience being a team lead and developing a business development team is highly desirable.
  • Account Management: Previous experience in managing multiple clients.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technology Industry Expertise: Familiarity with the technology landscape, particularly in AI and sales development, is advantageous.
  • Consultative Selling Experience: Experience in consultative selling and enterprise sales is a plus.
