The insurance industry continues to struggle with harnessing the available risk and peril data to profitably underwrite business. Property insurance in particular is a major source of losses and premium leakage. Plus, there is a missed opportunity to engage policyholders and agents to better manage property risk. Betterview synthesizes all available property and peril data to help insurance companies profitably underwrite business, and engages policyholders and agents to manage risk.

THE OPPORTUNITY
Join the Betterview team as a Business Development Representative (BDR) and be the face of exceptional customer outcomes. In this role, you will collaborate closely with our marketing and sales teams to identify key accounts, individuals, and unique attributes for outreach. Your mission: Establish and nurture strong relationships that drive Betterview towards exceeding annual sales and marketing targets, all while staying within budget. This position will include a competitive base salary plus commission, and offers substantial rewards for top performers. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to grow into a full sales position or help continue to build out the marketing BDR team. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Generating the pipeline required for the company to achieve its sales plan.
  • Engaging with potential customers to uncover their pain points and collaborating with sales and marketing to craft messaging that positions Betterview as the ideal solution.
  • Applying modern marketing and sales techniques e.g., ABM to create, nurture, and close new sales opportunities.
  • Working alongside sales and marketing to outline plans to assist prospects in their discovery process.
  • Collaborating with sales representatives to develop outbound and inbound sequences, guiding prospects through the buyer’s journey and ultimately converting them into valued customers. This includes participating in deal reviews.
  • Mastering the company’s value proposition, product offering, and any pertinent partnerships, effectively conveying these to potential customers. You will pitch the company, product, value proposition, etc.
  • Partnering with Customer Experience to pinpoint upsell and cross-sell opportunities within our existing customer base.
  • Maintaining clear and effective communication with both customers and fellow team members.
  • Harnessing the power of industry-leading tools such as Salesforce, Gong, Outreach, Hubspot, and other solutions to maximize their potential.

Requirements

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO OUR COMPANY

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of B2B Enterprise Inbound/Outbound experience with a SaaS provider (insurance or insurtech experience is a plus).
  • Ability to identify contacts including potential buyers within complex accounts.
  • Demonstrated ability to exceed Outbound and Inbound quotas.
  • Effective communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Excellent listening, negotiation, organizational and presentation skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Has the ability and willingness to travel 20-30%.
  • Establishes credibility and trust quickly with the ability to compel others.
  • Has a passion for sales engagement technology with an eye towards system optimization.
  • Is passionate about helping emerging technology companies reach their ideal customer profile with impactful problem statements that break down comfortability with the status quo.
  • Has an entrepreneurial spirit and enjoys being an active participant in a growing company with a strong drive to deeply understand the business, the technology, and the product.

Benefits

OUR COMPENSATION PHILOSOPHY

Betterview is committed to administering a fair, equitable, and inclusive interview and offer process that is transparent and free of discrimination and in compliance with federal and state laws. The base salary range associated with this position is $60,000 to $65,000 and has been determined through the use of external data sources that provide current market pay rates. The base salary range is considered a national average and is determined by the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this role and does not include our comprehensive benefits described below. When an offer is presented, compensation will be commensurate with an individual’s background, experience, and location; therefore, the range associated with this position could vary. Offers of employment for this position will include base salary, equity, commission, and a comprehensive benefits package.
