Andworx is hiring a Business and Data Visualization Analyst to work on program evaluation projects and rich data visualizations supporting our federal government client. You will be joining a high energy, collaborative team helping to design, build and maintain tools and reports for measuring success.
As a candidate, you should have a background in client interaction and solutioning end user needs, data analysis and an eye for creating visually pleasing dashboards that tell stories to enable data driven decisions. Your experience should include creating reports and dashboards using Microsoft Power BI with a high importance on user experience, usability, and design.
We're looking for someone who is a hands-on doer that is as comfortable building beautiful data visualizations as they are in interacting with stakeholders to elicit requirements in an agile and iterative environment.
Minimum Qualifications
- Provide end-to-end support for a busy team in its program support tasks.
- Help prepare initial drafts of official correspondence, documents, and presentations.
- Experience interfacing with and presenting dashboard and quantitative data to clients, customers, or stakeholders.
- Passion for using data and evaluation to measure impact, including an understanding of how to define an evaluation strategy and set metrics.
- Comfort with managing and manipulating large data sets, including data cleaning and transformation techniques, relational database architecture, and navigating querying sources such SQL Servers, SharePoint Lists, Excel Spreadsheets, 3rd party connectors, etc.
- Experience in successfully implementing process improvement initiatives using Microsoft tools.
- Proficiency in Power Apps – building and maintaining apps while executing client feedback.
- Attention to detail in handling dynamic and frequently changing data.
- Moderate to advanced proficiency in Excel, including the ability to conduct various types of data analysis using formulas, power pivots, graphing, slicers, and basic integrations.
- Ability to summarize and visualize data in reports using Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, or similar data visualization platforms with experience ingesting, manipulating, and building relationships with data from various feeds.
- Comfort with maintaining and refreshing data dashboards.
- Have strong communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate and lead meetings and build relationships with senior managers, clients, and other external stakeholders.
- Proven success with distilling technical concepts into easy-to-understand language for unfamiliar audiences.
- Ability to prioritize and complete work with little supervision and under tight deadlines with a flexible mindset to quickly adapt to changing priorities or tasks.
- Robust critical thinking skills with a mindset for understanding both the big picture and the small details.
- Strong analytical skills to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate data and information with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent written, grammar, and verbal communications skills; write, gain feedback on, and finalize meeting minutes.
- Aptitude and passion for learning new technologies and sharing that knowledge with teammates.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent years' experience.
- U.S Citizenship is required to obtain and maintain a Position of Trust.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Power Query or data-driven programming languages like R or Python.
- Technical certifications related to Power BI, database design, or data analysis.
- Experience with learning management systems is preferred, and experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate or Power App).
Responsibilities

- Support the project team with various types of data analysis in Excel and other programs.
- Help translate clients' business needs within the appropriate technical solution.
- Provide data requirements for the development of new metrics and analysis and manage regular data refreshes of existing dashboards.
- Facilitate collaboration across a team of digital marketers, consultants, and designers on data reports.
- Coordinate internal and client-facing activities related to data evaluation.
- Ask strategic questions to help define the technical requirements for data reports and process workflows.
- Create and build, update and maintain dashboards and reporting solutions incorporating team and client feedback to provide meaningful insight into areas of organizational interest.
- Participate in requirements gathering sessions with the user community to capture and define data requirements and end user needs clearly, completely, and correctly.
- Identify, analyze, and translate business requirements and rules into intuitive analytical solutions, business scorecards and management dashboards.
- Work with a variety of stakeholders to easily visualize data from multiple applications in a single platform.
- Present dashboards and visualizations to stakeholders and organization leadership.
- Prepare meeting agendas and lead and facilitate meetings for status updates and project discussions.
- Troubleshoot Power BI environment problems and tune for performance to diagnose and resolve application bottlenecks and performance issues.
- Define and apply user experience, user design, and visualization standards, styles, and best practices.
- Create written and visual data reports and analysis.
- Occasionally develop and conduct training for nontechnical colleagues on data analysis and relevant tools.
