Bookkeeper + Finance Manager

Who we are

An Academic & ADHD coaching practice that was founded in 2013 to help teens and young adults earn better grades with less stress by improving their mindset, organization, time management, and study skills. We are looking for a part-time, remote Bookkeeper + Finance Manager to help support our financial operations. 

This position starts at 5-10 hours per week. $25-30 an hour, based on experience. US-based remote. Applicants may not work from the following states: CA, CO, DC, HI, MA, MD, MT, NY, VT, WA.

What you'll be doing

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a talented and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Remote Bookkeeper + Finance Manager. This position offers the flexibility of working from home while supporting our financial operations including…

  • Perform day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including data entry, reconciliations, and maintaining accurate records of financial transactions.
  • Lead annual budget preparation and evaluate monthly expenses to ensure we are on track
  • Process weekly payroll accurately and in a timely manner, including payroll tax filings.
  • Generate and evaluate financial reports, such as balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow statements, on a regular basis
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends and potential areas for cost savings or revenue generation to support decision-making and strategic planning initiatives.
  • Utilize creative problem-solving skills to address financial challenges and optimize processes across the organization. 
  • Collaborate with the CEO and COO to develop financial strategies and plans for business growth.

  • Ensure accuracy + efficiency 
  • Advise on strategy 

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • At least 3-5 years of professional experience in bookkeeping and accounting roles, preferably in a small business or startup environment.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Google Sheets 
  • Understands and has experience using the Profit First approach to bookkeeping
  • Prior experience in budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial reporting.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred but not required.
  • Experience working in Onpay, Google Workspace, Asana, and Slack preferred.
