**This is a remote work opportunity with occasional work required from Embroker’s Oakbrook Terrace, IL location.  

Base Salary $110,000-$131,000 DOE

Reporting to the Vice President People, the Benefits and Compensation Manager is a key member of the People Team who ensures competitive, cost-effective compensation and benefits packages which align with business objectives for a multi-state/multi-province workforce in the US and Canada. Responsible for developing, implementing, and managing total compensation strategies to attract, retain, and motivate employees while ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Strong experience in designing and implementing total compensation programs, as well as experience with payroll processing in a multi-location environment is a must. The successful candidate will have a roll up your sleeves attitude with the desire to perform work in all areas of total compensation. 

Job Duties

  • Develop and implement compensation structures that align with the company's goals and industry standards
  • Administer the company’s stock options, bonus and commission plans 
  • Collaborate on annual salary review processes, including merit increases, promotions, and adjustments
  • Conduct regular benchmarking and analysis to ensure the competitiveness of compensation packages
  • Complete and distribute annual total compensation statements
  • Process payroll for US and Canadian employees
  • Act as a resource for employees seeking information or assistance with compensation-related issues
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and administration of employee benefits programs, including benefit plans, retirement plans, wellness initiatives, and other fringe benefits
  • Coordinate and administer annual open enrollment
  • Evaluate benefit plan options and make recommendations to leadership based on cost-effectiveness and employee needs
  • Serve as the main point of contact for employees regarding benefit inquiries, claims, and issues
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of policies and procedures related to compensation and benefits
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state/provincial, and local regulations governing compensation and benefits, such as the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and the Affordable Care Act (ACA), etc.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations
  • Administer employee surveys and focus groups, as well as collect and analyze data related to compensation and benefits to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and areas of concern
  • Develop and deliver communication materials, presentations, and training sessions to educate leadership and employees on compensation and benefits programs
  • Administer employee leave of absences and worker’s compensation
  • Implement the company’s wellness initiative 
  • Work directly with third party vendors
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • CCP certification preferred
  • 5+ years of proven benefits and compensation management experience
  • 2+ years of payroll processing experience
  • Experience working with various states and provinces in the US and Canada strongly preferred
  • Experience setting up total compensation programs
  • Strong understanding of compensation principles, practices, and trends, including base pay, incentives, benefits, and equity compensation
  • In-depth knowledge of employee benefits programs, regulatory requirements, and compliance issues
  • Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations governing compensation and benefits, such as ERISA, ACA, FLSA, FMLA, etc.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, conduct financial analysis, and provide actionable insights
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) and data analytics tools
  • Ability to work cross culturally on a global team
  • Prolonged periods of time sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Ability to perform at a high-level in a remote work environment
