Job Title: Bank Portfolio Accounting Manager
Reporting to: VP Banking Operations
BM Technologies, Inc. (“BMTX” or the “Company”) is seeking a fully remote Bank Portfolio Accounting Manager to lead the Portfolio Reconciliation Operations Team of the Company through functional, technical, and process leadership with direct responsibility for all general ledger and client (Partner Banks)account reconciliations. This role also includes responsibility for recording, processing, and analyzing financial operations and providing necessary information for the management team of monetary activities at the bank according to the regulations and provisions of the law. You will analyze the current processes and structure of the team, develop plans to improve, and successfully implement those changes.
You will partner with stakeholders across the Company in a dynamic and fast-paced environment to develop and execute initiatives that will streamline, automate, and improve the accuracy of the reconciliation operations area and ensure timely reporting to clients. You will partner across business lines to identify and implement ongoing process improvements.
To be successful in this role you should possess the following abilities:
Responsibilities:
• Manage accounting operations, accounting close, account reporting and reconciliations.
• Oversee the preparation of financial statements and reports.
• Prepare Income Statements and Balance Sheets.
• Ownership of the General Ledger for the Portfolio Management team.
• Summarize and report work progress to superiors
• Work closely with Finance and Bank Operations teams to understand the client’s portfolio and fund structure as well as to ensure all required deliverables are complete. To do this, you will perform various types of reconciliations to ensure that data is accurate and client service expectations are met.
• You will coordinate the opening (and closing) of new (or terminated) general ledger accounts.
• You will manage the documentation of processes and procedures relating to all applicable functions/processes within scope.
• Your due diligence and attention to detail during the review process of the reconciliation & accounting specialists’ work will be key to your team’s success while striving for error free reconciliations and reporting.
• You will conduct performance appraisals, monthly one-on-ones, and provide career pathing and training for the team of Reconciliation & Accounting Specialists. You will also ensure staffing requirements are met by participating in analyst interviews. You will provide and foster a team environment to include individual development, promotions, and disciplinary action.
• You will direct the production of the daily deliverables to ensure accurate and timely completion.
• You will also direct the production of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end deliverables to ensure accurate and timely completion.
• You will communicate with appropriate internal teams or client teams to resolve open issues and questions, reaching out to internal technology support and vendor support when necessary to resolve any production issues or system support queries. • Attend various meetings and conference calls to discuss issues and business environment
• Review reconciling items/exceptions with Finance, clients, and various operational areas.
• Assist in developing reconciliations for new products or new Partner Bank relationships
• Report findings/discrepancies to applicable areas in accordance with timelines defined in Reconciliation policy and procedures
• Create, maintain, and report all monthly reconciliations in accordance with Reconciliation Policy (SOX)
• Participate in all corporate projects and initiatives applicable to team.
• Working with Tech Support to constantly review and improve current processes
• Support/manage the daily and monthly account reconciliations
• Identify settlement discrepancies and out of balance conditions through a variety of balancing techniques and reconciliation software applications
• Alert appropriate management levels, internal departments, and external third parties to all problems and out of balance conditions identified
• Identify and recommend opportunities to improve reconciliation processes for greater operational efficiency, improvement opportunities for other processing areas to minimize risk of error and research time
• Act as a subject matter expert on assorted project teams and initiatives
Required Experience/ Qualifications:

• BA / BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in the Finance/Accounting industry and knowledge of banking operations.
• 3+ years of experience managing people
• Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel. (Annotations, concatenations, v-look up, formulas, macros)
• Experience with bank transactions including ACH, Wires, checks, debit cards and interchange
• The self-motivation, organization, and drive to complete multiple client deliverables in a timely manner without sacrificing excellence or quality.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills as you will primarily support your clients through email and/or phone calls.
• Strong customer service skills as you will be communicating daily with your clients and other service providers.
• Provide Subject Matter Expertise on a range of reconciliations
• Review changes suggested by clients related to process, documentation, and approve by following the proper change management process
• Strong working knowledge of industry trends and regulatory environment.
• Ability to interact and build effective working relationships with peers and senior management.
• Demonstrated ability to function in a fast paced, high intensity working environment with multiple and diverse responsibilities.

• Entrepreneurial spirit and willingness to take on additional responsibility quickly
• Strong knowledge of accounting regulations.
• Proficient in accounting software, including PeopleSoft and NetSuite
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
