Back End Developer / Engineer (AWS API Node.js) Remote / Worksop to £65k

Do you have a strong knowledge of AWS combined with backend Node.js, Java and / or Python skills?

You could be progressing your career as a Back End Developer at a growing tech company that provide a range of IoT and Data solutions for the Emergency Services.

As a Back End Developer you'll collaborate with the team to help transition to a more modern AWS Lambda environment (currently hybrid with Data Centres); the tech stack is currently Java and Node.js based however you'll be able to heavily influence technology choices going forward.

You will take ownership of maintenance and monitoring of AWS cloud systems and applications, ensuing high availability, develop efficient AWS hosted microservices, build APIs and manage backend MySQL databases. You'll champion the adoption of Cloud AWS services and make recommendations on emerging software trends to help keep the company at the forefront of technical innovation.

Location / WFH:

There's a remote first policy with the caveat that you'll meet up with the team once a month in Worksop, you could be based anywhere in the UK as the company is also happy to pay for expenses to the office.

About you:

You have a strong knowledge of AWS including AWS Lambda, Redis, EC2
You have strong coding skills, having used a range of languages e.g. Node.js, Java, Python, JavaScript, Bootstrap
You have experience with cloud migration and rearchitecting solutions to be made cloud-ready
You have strong API development experience
You have a good understanding of NoSQL databases, MySQL preferred
You're a collaborative and pragmatic communicator with great communication skills
