About this role 

We are seeking a skilled and motivated ASP.NET Core Developer with expertise in MVC and Blazor to join our team for a VB6 to .NET migration project of a mental health software solution. As an ASP.NET Core Developer, you will play a crucial role in migrating the existing VB6 application to .NET, specifically using the MVC and Blazor frameworks. Your responsibilities will include:

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and analyze them in the context of migrating from VB6 to .NET.

• Design and develop solutions using ASP.NET Core, specifically utilizing the MVC and Blazor frameworks.

• Convert the existing VB6 codebase to ASP.NET Core, ensuring functionality and compatibility are maintained.

• Develop clean, efficient, and maintainable code in C#, following best practices and design patterns.

• Integrate the migrated application with databases, third-party APIs, and web services.

• Conduct thorough testing, including unit testing, to ensure the quality and reliability of the migrated software.

• Collaborate with the team to troubleshoot and resolve any migration-related issues.

• Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and ensure adherence to coding standards.

• Optimize application performance and scalability by identifying and addressing bottlenecks and applying performance tuning strategies.

• Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies related to ASP.NET Core development, MVC, and Blazor.

Requirements:

• Strong experience in ASP.NET Core development, particularly with MVC and Blazor.

• Proficiency in C# programming language.

• Solid understanding of software development principles, design patterns, and best practices.

• Experience in migrating VB6 applications to ASP.NET Core is highly desirable.

• Familiarity with database integration, third-party APIs, and web services.

• Knowledge of unit testing frameworks and test-driven development (TDD) principles.

• Proactive and self-motivated, with a strong drive to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
