Applications Engineer

Job Description

The Application Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and installing business applications that support the Global Casino Team goals of increasing process automation, operational efficiency, and effectiveness. The Engineer will be capable of executing the complete software development lifecycle from gathering requirements, designing and developing solutions and providing post deployment support.

Essential Functions:

Develop modern, secure software solutions that improve operational efficiency and effectiveness of various groups with Global Casino Operations for both shipboard & shoreside use.
Provide post deployment support to troubleshoot and fix bugs in addition to enhancing & improving the solutions
Establish effective relationships across the team to understand process gaps and develop a plan of action on how to solve them.
Attend and participate in key business unit leadership meetings and collaborate with analytical teams within Global Casino Operations and brand partners
Develop deep knowledge of existing system architecture both shipboard & shoreside to assist in guiding our technology roadmap

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree
Minimum five years of software development experience or equivalent combination of education & experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Ability to develop software in in various programming languages such as Java, HTML/CSS, etc. Excellent knowledge of relational databases.
Prepared to work hands on with development efforts in addition to managing projects. Strong analytical & problem-solving skills. Skilled in research, audit & problem solving. Strong attention to detail, with a high degree of accuracy in work product. Superior written & oral communication skills. Effective communicator in framing and presenting a concept or hypotheses. Self-motivated with ability to work independently. Ability to manage time effectively, set priorities and meet deadlines. Ability to learn and adapt to change.

Physical Demands: Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.

Travel: Less than 25% shipboard travel likely. Less than 25% non-shipboard travel likely.

Work Conditions: Work primarily in a climate controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.

The range for this role’s base salary is $83,182 - $110,000. Offers to selected candidates will be made on a fair and equitable basis, taking into account specific job-related skills and experience.

Vacation Time – All full-time employees at the manager and below level start with 14 days/year; director and above level start with 19 days/year. Part-time with benefits employees receive time off based on the number of hours they work, with a minimum of 84 hours/year. All employees gain additional vacation time with further tenure.
Sick Time – All full-time employees receive 80 hours of sick time each year. Part-time with benefits employees receive time off based on the number of hours they work, with a minimum of 60 hours each year.
