Application Architect (SaaS)

Location: Remote in U.S.


As a Software Architect at Corcentric, you will join a hard-working team within an ambitious, entrepreneurial global organization. You will collaborate with other architects in the organization and drive all critical decisions in the direction of the organization’s technical vision. You will act as the point of contact to consult on various software development activities as well as mentoring, documenting, and collaborating to define standards and best practices. This key position reports to the Chief Product & Technology Officer along with the other members of our Architecture group. As a Software Architect, you will:

  • Drive the advancement and expansion of the technical vision for the organization.
  • Establish and promote architectural best practices and standards to ensure consistency, reusability, and maintainability across products and projects.
  • Design and maintain a scalable, robust, and future-proof technology architecture for numerous products and projects.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning by exploring emerging technologies and evaluating their potential impact on the organization's operations and offerings.
  • Serve as a technical leader to the engineering teams by solving any technical challenges that may arise anywhere in the software development lifecycle.
  • Develop proof of concepts to demonstrate proposed solutions' capabilities and features.
  • Identify interoperable solutions to work with disparate technologies, while steadily moving towards uniformity.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical strategies and architectural solutions.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to team members by strengthening their skills and talent and empowering them to excel in their roles.
  • Make key, high-level decisions regarding the choice of technology stack, frameworks, platforms, and the overall technical strategy.
  • Manage and identify technical risks and their mitigation for any proposed functionality to add to an existing product or introduction of a new product to the technical landscape.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with different business units, functional areas, and subject matter experts to remain apprised of direction and project statuses.
  • Prioritize the planning of projects and features and tracking of internal and external commitments.

Requirements

Here are the key qualifications and experience we're seeking:

  • Senior level of professional experience in the software development space.
  • Firm understanding of software development and testing lifecycle, processes, and methodologies.
  • Enterprise-level experience with WebOps / DevOps.
  • Ability to perform effective code reviews in multiple development languages, libraries, and frameworks.
  • Senior-level experience solutioning business application development using cloud native technologies.
  • Architectural leadership experience with distributed web applications and microservice patterns (service mesh, sidecar, discovery, circuit breaker, etc.)
  • Experience with service and flow orchestration for managing multiple production systems (monitoring, logging, alerting, tracing, etc.).
  • Knowledge of micro front-end architecture and front-end development best practices.
  • Knowledge of information security best practices.
  • Professional experience with common tools used for distributed systems such as Kafka, Kubernetes, Consul.
  • Experience building and maintaining software solutions lasting multiple years.
  • Capable of working across multiple geographies and cultures.
  • Experience coaching and guiding engineering teams about modern software design patterns and security best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
