Agile Project Manager

We have an opening for a full-time, permanent Agile Project Manager to join our talented, dynamic team in support of a large Federal Government customer.

The Agile Project Manager will lead a portfolio of projects within the Data Loss Prevention (DLP) program for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). This role will involve managing the implementation of the Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) Data Pillar, focusing on various key initiatives, including sensitivity tag deployment, policy drafting, data protection automation, communication strategies, and Data Stewardship Handbook enhancements. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in project management, agile methodologies, cyber security, and federal sector experience.

Duties

In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Lead and manage a portfolio of projects related to the implementation of the Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) Data Pillar for the Data Loss Prevention (DLP) program.
  • Lead and facilitate Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives. Ensure that Agile principles are followed and that the team remains focused on delivering value in each sprint.
  • Maintain a clear understanding of the team's workflow and progress by using Agile project management tools and visualizations. Identify bottlenecks, issues, and opportunities for improvement, and work collaboratively to address them.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deploy, test, and validate an expanded list of sensitivity tags, both global and organization-specific.
  • Draft and refine policies associated with the ZTA Data Pillar, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Establish effective communication channels to support tagging initiatives, including training and awareness programs.
  • Develop and implement automated data protection mechanisms directly assigned with global and organization-specific tags.
  • Create and execute comprehensive communication plans to achieve tagging objectives and enhance user understanding of DLP measures.
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to add new data categories to the Data Stewardship Handbook.
  • Provide technical support for various tasks, including DLP Gap Analysis, Requirements Review, Technology Re-Alignment, Reporting, Operational Response Documentation, Policy and Governance Establishment, and Training within the Talent Management System.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, systems, business, or related scientific/technical discipline OR PMP Certification
  • A minimum of 10 years of applicable professional experience in project management and related fields
  • A minimum of four years of experience in cybersecurity directly relevant to the tasks outlined in this role
  • PMP certification is a plus
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing cybersecurity programs, including policy development, data protection, and risk management
  • Two years of experience working within the Federal sector, with a strong understanding of federal regulations and processes
  • Proven experience in Agile project management methodologies, ensuring flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and accuracy
