Agile Product Owner

Liquibase is hiring an Agile Product Owner to enhance our database change management products. Someone in this role will use their knowledge of the market and top-notch communication skills to represent customer, business interests and the market in the product development lifecycle. They will also work with Customer Success to ensure an intense focus on the needs of our customers. They are excited to work alongside developers to build, improve, and deliver significant product enhancements that solve challenging problems in the database DevOps & CI/CD space. Furthermore, they will influence the product strategy and roadmap by collaborating with our Product Management team.

What you'll do:

• Own the near-term technical product backlog for one or more of our Database DevOps platform solutions, including setting milestones and prioritizing deliverables 

• Define detailed technical product requirements based on customer and business requirements

• Manage detailed planning and delivery of features, including prioritizing and grooming the backlog 

• Assist Engineering in managing the backlog of technical debt and currency

• Coordinate with the Customer Success team on customer reported issues and feature requests

• Engage customers to better understand their needs and requests so you can translate them into actionable product plans for Engineering

• Be the day-to-day point of contact of Product Management for Engineering

• Work with the Engineering, Design, Documentation, and Customer Success teams to create complete and polished product offerings

• Work with the Sales, Product Marketing, and Customer Success teams to prepare for product launches and provide the materials necessary to educate other departments on product enhancements, their value, and their use 

Your background and skill set:

• BS or BA plus experience in technical field 

• 5+ years as a technical product owner for a commercial product/solution serving an IT or DevOps platform technical audience - such as automation solutions, data solutions, or development/operations products

• A strong understanding of database and cloud technology; hands on preferred

• A strong understanding of DevOps automation and CI/CD solutions and processes; hands-on experience preferred

• Experience working on a product that relies on integration with a diverse ecosystem of third-party products

• Extensive experience writing and refining agile epics and stories to produce predictable product outcomes on an agile scrum team

• An incredible talent for cross-functional collaboration

Nice to have:

• Experience working with teams building and maintaining APIs

• Experience with JIRA & Confluence

• Experience with database applications as a DBA or Developer

• Certified Scrum Product Owner or similar certification

• Active participation in an open source project

• Agile certifications

• Active participation in a product management community
