The Role:
The Accounting Manager is responsible for planning and directing the accounting activities of the business in accordance with fiscal and owner operating calendars. This individual will partner with internal teams throughout the company as well as externally with vendors. Duties must be executed in a manner that upholds the practice’s standards of excellence and in accordance with federal, state, company, and employee handbook policies and procedures. This role will report to the CEO.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee month-end closing process as well as period end analytical review procedures, including but not limited to:
- Preparing or reviewing standard journal entries
- Account reconciliations
- Overseeing AR and AP functions
- Sales and use tax support
- Managing payroll
- Building ad hoc financial reports and analyses, as required
- Research, author, and help enforce technical accounting policies and procedures.
- Coordinate and perform specific internal controls related to accounting to ensure compliance, yielding no control deficiencies or weaknesses
- Prepare monthly external and internal financial reports.
- Assist with external and internal audits as needed.
- Lead projects to implement and/or automate accounting back-office functions as assigned.
- Provide analytical support for special projects
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of related experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration from an accredited four-year college or university
- Well versed with GAAP policies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Excellent skills with accounting QuickBooks software
- Ability to multitask and work with tight deadlines
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation
- Financial modeling experience
- Big Four accounting firm experience
- B2B SaaS experience
Estimated salary range, depending on experience: $85,000 - $125,000 + equity + benefits
