Accounting Intern

THE ROLE

Under the direction of the Lead, Intercompany Accounting, the Accounting Intern is responsible for performing a variety of general accounting tasks to support the various areas within the accounting function with daily operations. This will get a unique view of the accounting department of a growing publicly traded (NASDAQ – AMLX) pharmaceutical company.

To be a strong candidate for an Accounting Internship, you should possess an understanding of accounting and financial principles and a positive attitude. You should be collaborative, trustworthy, receptive to feedback, and eager to learn.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Review and analyze general ledger accounts.
Run various reports as needed.
Perform other job-related duties and assist with special projects as assigned by Lead – Intercompany Accounting.
Assist with research, filing, data entry, and recording and maintaining accurate and complete financial records.
Learn how to work as part of the Accounting team to compile and analyze data, track information, and support the company.
Take on additional tasks or projects to learn more about accounting and office operations.

REQUIREMENTS

Work Experience:

A business major with a minimum of 3.2 GPA (concentration in Accounting preferred) is required.
General Accounting experience a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Natural proficiency with math.
Knowledge of basic financial concepts, tax, and accounting principles, practices, and procedures.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Office with aptitude to learn new systems.
Proven ability to manage data and information in a detailed-oriented manner with consistency and accuracy.
Handle sensitive or confidential information with honesty and integrity.
Ability to effectively communicate via phone and email in a professional remote-work environment, ensuring that duties are completed accurately and delivered with high quality and in a timely manner.
Motivation and a strong desire to take on new challenges and learn as much as possible.

DURATION

This is a paid full-time Summer internship with possibility to extend to part-time hours come Fall semester!
