We have an exciting VFX task to model a rock for a 3D set extension in a feature film. The goal is to recreate the unique structure of the practical rocks from the set to seamlessly blend them into the film's environment.
We are seeking a skilled Sculpting and Texturing Artist to join our team and contribute to this project. As a Sculpting and Texturing Artist, you will play a pivotal role in recreating the natural look and texture of practical rocks, ensuring they seamlessly integrate into the film's environment.
What you will do:
- Collaborate with the VFX Supervisor and Art Director to understand the visual style and requirements for the rocks.
- Create highly detailed 3D models of rocks, replicating the unique structure and characteristics of the practical set rocks.
- Sculpt and refine the rock models to achieve a natural and realistic appearance.
- Develop high-quality textures and materials that match the practical rocks' color, surface, and weathering.
- Ensure that the modeled rocks have the appropriate scale and proportions to fit seamlessly into the film's environment.
- Collaborate with the 3D modeling and lighting teams to integrate the rocks into the scene.
- Continuously refine and improve the rock models and textures based on feedback from the VFX Supervisor and Art Director.
- Meet project milestones and deadlines to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality assets.
Requirements
- Proven experience in 3D sculpting and texturing for VFX, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work.
- Proficiency in industry-standard software such as ZBrush, Mudbox, or similar sculpting tools.
- Strong understanding of natural rock formations, textures, and weathering.
- Ability to recreate real-world objects and textures with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Experience with 3D modeling, texturing, and rendering pipelines.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to project requirements and artistic feedback.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, both in remote and team settings.
