Scout Motors Internship Program
We will provide aspiring professionals with a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience with our talented, inclusive, and entrepreneurial teams. Undergraduate Interns will immerse themselves in the EV landscape, gaining exposure to the latest trends, technologies, and market dynamics. Interns will be assigned meaningful projects aligned with Scout’s goals. These projects will challenge interns to apply their academic knowledge in real-world scenarios, fostering problem-solving skills and creativity while working under the mentorship of our leaders.
This program is designed for current undergraduate students who live in our local market. Please note that no housing stipend is provided.
2024 Internship Program Overview
- Schedule: The program is anticipated to run mid-May to mid-August 2024
- Duration: Our internship program runs approximately 12 weeks, with the official end date varying dependent upon student needs and the start of respective Fall academic calendars
- Transportation + Housing: our Interns will be responsible for providing their own housing and transportation
Important Notes:
- Scout Motors will not provide relocation or sponsorship as part of our Internship program
- High preference for currently enrolled Juniors or Seniors majoring in Engineering, Manufacturing, Logistics, or a similar field
- Deadline: applications for the program must be received no later than March 8, 2024.
Location & Travel Expectations: This role is on-site, and will be based out of our Scout Motors location in Novi, MI. The responsibilities of this role require attendance at in-person meetings and events regularly.
Housing & Sponsorship: Scout Motors does not provide visa sponsorship or housing assistance for internship positions.
Responsibilities of the Supply Chain Internship Program include
- Supply Chain Intern will work closely with our supply chain team to support various aspects of procurement, logistics, inventory management, and supplier relationship management.
- Assist with procurement activities including sourcing, supplier selection, and negotiation of contracts to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of materials and components.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast demand, track inventory levels, and optimize inventory management processes.
- Support logistics operations by coordinating shipments, managing transportation providers, and monitoring delivery schedules to ensure on-time delivery of goods.
- Conduct research and analysis to identify potential suppliers, evaluate supplier capabilities, and assess supplier performance against key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Assist in the development and implementation of processes and procedures to streamline supply chain operations and improve efficiency.
- Participate in regular meetings with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to discuss project timelines, address issues, and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Provide general administrative support to the supply chain team, including data entry, document management, and preparation of reports.

- Must be enrolled in an undergraduate degree program for Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, or Engineering, or other relevant field as a Sophomore or higher.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and draw meaningful insights.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and external partners.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Previous internship or coursework related to supply chain management, logistics, or procurement is a plus.
- Passion for sustainability and electric vehicles is desirable.
- Must be able to work from Novi, MI from mid-May to mid-August.

Pay Transparency
This is a paid internship program.
Initial base salary range = $20.00 per hour
Internal leveling code: INTN
